Art as major driver of social change. With this objective, Cascina Triulza intends to give a voice and visibility, during Expo, to cultural operators and productions that support, encourage and stimulate social change and innovation. Artists of different disciplines are involved in the Pavilion's cultural programme, created from the bottom up through initiatives and calls of ideas (some of which are still ongoing) launched by Fondazione Triulza together with several partners.

Cultural associations and cooperatives can still participate in the 3rd International Call “Exploding your idea! Destination Expo Milano 2015” (Closing date: October 2015).

Independent artists and cultural operators involved in a project submitted by a Civil Society organization can also participate in this call. View all the documentation:

Other Pavilions' initiatives to promote the participation of artists are:

  • StartArtist, international Call for Emerging Artists Promoted in partnership with Etica Sgr, the call gives 15 emerging young artists or groups of artists the opportunity to play a leading role in at least 15 events of the artistic programme of Cascina Triulza. The emerging creativity of the new artists will express itself, alternately, on the stage, in the performing corner, in the digital gallery and in the auditorium. Participation is open to artists who operate in the fields of photography, painting, design, music, theatre and other performing arts, video production and other creative disciplines. Closing date: 30 July 2015.
  • 100different copies”, international Call for young designers. Launched by Fondazione Triulza in collaboration with Slow/d and CNA Emilia Romagna, the call received 80 entries from designers aged under 35 from all over the world. The winning project was RJR, a chair by designer Mario Alessiani (1989, Teramo). The award winning chair was produced in 100 different pieces by more than 30 Italian manufacturers. The chairs are part of the furniture of the Civil Society Pavilion during the six months of Expo. Visitors can try the Pavilion's chairs and buy them through the open source web platform http://www.slowd.it/
  • International Call "Land Art in Cascina". Promoted by Fondazione Triulza in partnership with the association Arte in Cascina, the call received 25 international entries. The goal of the initiative was to raise the public's awareness on themes concerning environmental sustainability through the artistic production of works made from elements of nature, whose purpose is also to preserve and enhance the territories. Of the 5 award winning installations, one will be exhibited in Cascina Triulza and the others in four parks close to the Expo site: Bosco WWF of Vanzago; Bosco in città - Italia Nostra in Milan; Parco del Ticino e Lago Maggiore; Parco di Monza School of Agriculture.
