Civil society and institutions: an essential cooperation for development

"In the fight against hunger, for a more sustainable development, cooperation between civil society and institutions is absolutely essential" says Cristina Gallach, UN Under Secretary General for Communication and Information, during her visit to Cascina Triulza, where she was welcomed by Sabina Siniscalchi, Vice President of Triulza Foundation, and Chiara Pennasi, the Pavilion Director.

The Under Secretary, during his official visit to Expo 2015 on June 19th, wanted to see the third sector pavilion, emphasizing the civil society importance in achievement the aim of the Zero Hunger launched by the UN.

"The fact that, in a world exposition, there is, for the first time, an entire pavilion dedicated to the third sector and cooperation between profit and no-profit organizations is an extraordinary thing. The involvement of philanthropic associations, as well as enterprises, is essential to reach aims that the United Nations set themselves in food safety".
